Why are there no real super heroes in real life?

The title says it all. Serious, funny, realistic, violent.

Extremely violent.

But if you like flashy GCs or over-hyped franchise, then go somewhere else.

Oh, don't look away now or you will miss the whole point.

"Kick Ass" is much better than any over-hyped franchise.

You won't be disappointed, I'm sure.

At first, the story is quite simple, a shy geek experiences a few hang ups and frequent mugging decides why not become a community super hero. So he buys a costume via the internet and runs around in his tights doing simple good deeds. But when he got involved in a street violence, defending a helpless man, he became an instant hit. His life became even more complicated as more costumed heroes sprung up, more aggressive, more violent, and much darker than him. He never realized he started a brand new trend in vigilante crime fighting.

Although much of the characters are an offshoot of current hero franchise such as Spider-man and Batman, its biggest seller is on how real these characters are, most especially Kick Ass who is just a wimpy kid who had no redeeming powers but his own will.

The movie in fact seriously deals with the issue of why people don colorful costumes and fight crime, something that Allan Moore have thought of when he created the Watchmen back in the eighties. And for those who have watched the movie version of the Watchmen, I am sure that we both agree that it never did justice to the graphic novel. All we got is a watered down, comicalized kiddie version of an over-hyped movie. Kick Ass is deadly serious in this matter, most especially in the story of Big Daddy. For those who want to find out what happened to Nicolas Cage, just watch the film and cringe. You'll find out why. Me, I nearly cried.

The movie isn't much as an underdog like some who hadn't watched the movie say. What for me is a superb storytelling is not on how great the effects are but more so on how they developed the character. So what if there will be some lame moments in the film, but trust me on this. Watch it and you will be hooked.

This is how "The Watchmen" Movie should have been handled.
